Tardebrigge, Lapworth and Hatton Locks

Susan says she is feeling really ashamed as no photos.  She promises that this will be rectified in a few days once her new month contract PAYG starts.  She says that she has now fathomed out how to re-save photos for the web as much smaller files.  Susan did try to add extra days so that she could upload photos on the blog for you guys but could not fathom out how to do it on the website.  Sorry..... she says again.   She tells me that she used to be 'techie' now just a 'silver surfer' whatever that means......  She also complains that there has not been a good internet signal in places and been a bit exhausted from all the locks..... I know, excuses, excuses, excuses.....   AND, just to let you know they have also been visiting the following places whilst I have been resting:

Avoncroft Museum - rescued old buildings - a brilliant time apparently.  Susan loved the old gypsy caravan ;-))
Packwood House and Baddesley Clinton (a moated house) held by the National Trust.
Warwick Castle - best bit, Susan says, was the bird of prey display - the eagle has landed..... AND did you know that Peacocks like crisps.  Yep, she saw one eat a whole crisp today.

Their evenings have been spent competing at Scrabble, Boggle, Backgammon, Pocker dice, Yahtzee - all of which Pete wins.....  Susan gets really grumpy about this....   Oh yes, of course, they have checked out a few pubs.  In Lapworth these were: The Boot Inn and The Navigation.  In Waring's Green - Tom O'Wood - does a yummy pizza - two for the price of one!!!  Weatherspoons in Warwick - steak meal plus a drink for the very expensive price of £6.95 on a Tuesday - So yes they did manage that after doing the Hatton 21 locks and they both commented that  "it went down a treat".

Good news - Mazey is now much better - all worried for a bit!!!!

This is how busy I have been since we last chatted....    Miles = 40, Locks = 90 (these include Tardebigge 30, Lapworth 19, and Hatton 21), 3 swing bridges, 2 lift bridges, 3 tunnels.

We were lucky when we came down the Hatton 21 locks as another boat 'Kathryn' waited for us.  It made doing the locks a lot easier.  Last year I did it on my own and it nearly killed Susan and Pete.  Kath and John from the other boat were great fun despite Susan knocking 'Kathryn' into the locks walls - a few times.  All was forgiven when we both reached the Saltisford Arm in Warwick and had to moor up abreast of each other.  Very friendly like!!!  The humans deserted us and Mazey to recover and they wandered off into Warwick to the Weatherspoon's pub for a steak meal.  Kathryn and I rested. Mazey slept.

Tomorrow we head off to Royal Leamington Spa - Susan did say something about shopping......  Catch up soon
